Foundation Program
Paving
the way for your success
The
learning process in Stamford MBA degree course is so
unique that we’ve developed a special sixteen weeks
Foundation Program for non-business graduates to
join in India before
your actual MBA academic classes begin in Bangkok.
Foundation program will familiarize you to this new
method of learning, will hone your skills in
business communication, and will provide you with an
excellent foundation for success in the program. It
introduces you to the skills you will need to tackle
case studies. It will also give you the chance to
get to know your classmates from various
backgrounds, build your confidence, understand what
is expected of you, and allow you to start the MBA
first semester in Bangkok with confidence.
Foundation program starts each year in June,
October, and February.
Students (bachelor
degree holders from non business majors)
aspiring to join the
Stamford International University's one
year
international
MBA degree program/course may enroll for the
foundation program in India first. Students can join the
foundation program at any Stamford Partner
Institution (SPI)
in India.
After successful completion of foundation program,
students can join
the main MBA course at international campus in Bangkok
(Thailand) without any GMAT, TOEFL/ IELTS score.
Stamford India Center and Stamford Partner
Institutions do not award any credential (certificate or diploma
or equivalent)
for the foundation program.
MBA course is conducted and the MBA degree is awarded by the Stamford International
University at its International campus in Bangkok.

Foundation Program
Details:
The
foundation program consists of five pre-requisite
non-credit courses (subjects) that are necessary for all
bachelor degree holders from non business majors, who
aspires to study MBA at STIU

1. MBA
501 Principles of Accounting
2. MBA 502 Introduction to Management
3. MBA 503 Introduction to Quantitative Analysis
4. MBA 504 Business Communication in English
5. MBA 505 Case Study Dynamics
After
successful completion of foundation program in India
with any Stamford Partner Institution (SPI), students
can join MBA degree course at
Stamford International University's International campus in Bangkok, Thailand.

Course (Subjects) Description:
MBA 501 Principles of
Accounting
This course discusses the fundamentals of accounting
from the perspective of consumers of accounting
information. This course will also tackle the components
and preparation of financial reports and engage in the
discussion of the accounting process. Case studies will
be drawn from a variety of real-world situations wherein
these accounting principles are used to make sound
decisions.
MBA 502 Introduction to Management
This course provides a broad view of classical and
modern management theories and practices in preparation
for graduate studies in business. It discusses the basic
management functions of planning, organizing, leading,
directing, and controlling. It also covers ethical
decision making and social responsibility, innovation,
globalization, communication, motivation, leadership
styles and working with a diverse work force.
MBA 503 Introduction to Quantitative Analysis
Basic statistics knowledge is necessary in business
decision making as it helps you to understand the
relevance of the information you have, and how to
acquire information necessary for good decision-making.
This course lays the foundation for more advanced
statistics courses and graduate research. It combines
theory with practice through the application of
statistical software. At the end of the course, you will
be able to conduct statistical analysis projects, to
analyze and interpret the findings, and to present the
results in a professional and compelling manner.
MBA 504 Business Communication in English
In the MBA core curriculum, students learn how to
produce, distribute, market and sell products and
services, and how to count revenues, costs and profits.
The course syllabi from the core curriculum provide a
starting point for the vocabularies and activities the
MBA student will participate in. The successful MBA
student must be prepared to participate fully, and this
course is intended to build knowledge and confidence in
business English at the graduate level of study.
MBA 505 Case Study Dynamics
Case study analysis is a fundamental learning tool used
in all MBA disciplines, and it is essential that MBA
students are well-grounded in the strategies and
mechanics of case study learning. This course introduces
students to the case method of teaching. It prepares
them to think critically, to work productively in teams,
participate effectively in class discussions, make
professional presentations, and write cogent and
succinct case reviews and position papers.
